Every NEWROCKIES customer has a story that starts the same way — a GM car that suddenly won't start, or dies seconds after cranking. Below are their stories: real Passlock, VATS, and PassKey failures across Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, GMC, Pontiac, Saturn, Isuzu, and how the NEWROCKIES PRO Module brought each car back for good. New stories are added as customers send them in — if yours isn't here yet, tell us about it.
His Impala had a Passlock fault and a failed sensor at the same time. The module fixed one, and made the other findable. The honest version of a repair story.
Intermittent, no fault code, and every clue points at fuel. Three shop owners on why they stopped replacing parts.
He bought a key bypass from another company. It was not returnable, and it started the car exactly once. A month locked out of a 1994 Cadillac, then fixed.
A $200 camshaft sensor that fixed nothing, a dealer who admitted GM would not let them bypass the system, and a non-mechanical owner who solved it anyway.
A year of parts and 30-minute relearns on a 1998 Express work van, over and over. Joseph asked one question before ordering, then: boom, problem solved.
An engineer wrote to Chevy about the Passlock failure and was told googling issues is not allowed. So he fixed his 2005 Impala himself and tested it for a year.
Fuel regulator, fuel pump, MAP sensor: all replaced, no fix, no fault code. Jerrald researched us for a year before buying. His Avalanche starts every time.
Original owner, 102,000 miles, fault code 1626, and a $593.03 quote for keys and cylinders that would not have fixed it. Steve wrote back just to warn people.
The fault first flashed at 2,000 miles and took eleven years to fully fail. Then the internet's cut-the-wire trick left the truck dead.
Scott's Bravada failed on the hottest and coldest days for two years. The bypass fixed the no-start, and his mechanic reports it cured the mystery idle too.
A trusted mechanic bypassed the ignition end for $150 and it held for two years. Then the BCM end failed. Eight years of Matthew's Silverado, explained.
She bought her first car with her savings, and when it stopped starting she thought she had broken it. Christopher fixed the Impala and kept a promise.
The seller disclosed the fault at purchase as a quirk: wait ten minutes. Eighteen months and a few thousand starts after the fix, George was still laughing.
Trent trailered his first car 600 miles home and rebuilt everything, only to have it die half a second after starting. The five-year-old gremlin was the TDM.
Two new ignition switches and freshly chipped keys bought Marty weeks each time. His 1997 Lumina was one decision from the scrapyard when he found the real fix.
Matt diagnosed his wife's 1996 Camaro over the phone with one question, because his first module had already run four years in a LeSabre without a hiccup.
Jack's 1995 Impala SS had a failing factory theft system and a 20-year-old aftermarket alarm both vetoing the starter. One visit under the dash fixed both.
Immaculate, 34,000 miles, clean Carfax, still had the new car smell. Within a week it would not start at all. David wanted a solution, not a band-aid.
A car bought for a son's college commute that never started reliably. The dealer's own words: this is really just hit or miss until we find the problem.
A shop had the Allante for eight months. The dealer refused to touch it. Steve was the last chance in a line of failure, and this is how he won.
